The challenge

The unique architectural spaces of the Hungarian House of Music required audiovisual solutions that, from a technological perspective, go beyond conventional systems. A key challenge was to create the Hangdóm’s 360-degree visual experience, projected onto a hemispherical surface, along with the corresponding spatial sound design.

Implementation

SMP Solutions was involved not only in the passive IT infrastructure but also in the installation of the venue’s complex audiovisual system. The installation of the Hangdóm’s projection screen required a particularly high degree of precision and expertise. When designing the sound system, the solution had to be adapted to the space’s unique acoustic characteristics, with particular attention paid to managing echoes, reverberations and other acoustic phenomena, so that the technology could truly create a captivating audiovisual experience.

What we’re proud of

The Hungarian House of Music project presented our specialists with a number of unique challenges from both an engineering and a construction perspective. The project is a fine example of one of SMP Solutions’s key strengths: even when faced with complex, unconventional technical challenges, our team is open to applying new technologies and bespoke solutions. We are proud that our expertise has contributed to the creation of such a unique cultural space, where architecture, sound, image and technology come together to form a unified experience.
