Automated processing and inspection

State-of-the-art equipment is capable of identifying the denomination of banknotes and verifying their authenticity whilst counting them. Depending on the configuration, the processing may also include, amongst other things: sorting banknotes by denomination, orientation or condition; checking their fitness for circulation; separating out suspicious banknotes; and reading serial numbers.

The design of the appropriate system is determined by the volume of cash to be processed, the required sorting criteria and the operating environment. Solutions with a range of capacities are available, from compact branch and back-office equipment to high-performance, modularly expandable systems.

Automated counting and sorting can reduce the time spent on manual processing and the risk of human error, whilst enabling more consistent and better-controlled cash management. For larger volumes, further automation steps can be integrated into the process, such as bundling and packaging banknotes.
