Know your customer (KYC)
SMP’s KYC solutions facilitate secure and efficient digital customer onboarding and due diligence through document verification, biometric identification and automated verification processes.
Secure customer identification during digital onboarding
The aim of digital customer due diligence is to enable financial institutions to verify a customer’s identity quickly and reliably, and for this verification to become a natural part of the remote customer journey. The process can combine several verification technologies within a single, unified KYC process.
Document verification
The system digitally captures the details of a passport, identity card or other supported document, and then verifies its authenticity and validity. In addition to OCR and the examination of the document’s security features, the chip data from NFC-enabled documents can also be used for verification.
Biometric identification
The facial image extracted from the document can be compared with a live facial image provided by the customer. The liveness check helps to determine whether a real person is participating in the process and assists in detecting attempts at deception using photographs, videos or other means.
KYC and risk checks
Identity verification can be supplemented with additional data sources and risk assessments. Automated processes support the validation of customer data and the integration of AML, sanctions and PEP checks into the onboarding process.
An integrable digital customer journey
API- and SDK-based solutions can be integrated into mobile and web applications, as well as into existing banking onboarding processes. Automation can reduce the number of manual checks, whilst high-risk or uncertain cases can be referred for further investigation.
